Division II Ohio Colleges

Ohio is home to a number of highly recognizable colleges and universities that are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. There are three divisions within the NCAA, ranging from larger schools in the Division I category to the smallest schools in the Division III category. Division II is comprised of medium-sized colleges and universities.
  1. Urbana University

    • Urbana University is in Urbana, just one hour away from the larger cities of Columbus and Dayton. The university enrolls approximately 1,500 students each year and offers academic programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Among the undergraduate programs offered is a major in nursing and a number of pre-professional programs such as pre-veterinary studies. Urbana offers graduate programs in business, education and nursing. NCAA Division II athletic programs include baseball, basketball, football, softball, swimming and volleyball. Urbana University's mascot is the Blue Knight.

    Tiffin University

    • Tiffin University was founded in 1888 and currently enrolls approximately 2,000 students each year. Like Urbana University, Tiffin offers both graduate and undergraduate programs and sponsors a number of different athletic programs. Undergraduate degrees are offered in the arts and sciences, business and criminal justice, and social science. Master's level degrees are offered in criminal justice, humanities, education and business administration. The Tiffin University Dragons participate in NCAA Division II baseball, football, track and field, soccer, softball, basketball, cross country, tennis and golf.

    Lake Erie College

    • Lake Erie College in Painesville is a small college that enrolls approximately 1,300 students on an annual basis. The college was founded in 1856 and offers students a wide variety of degree options and athletic opportunities. Undergraduate programs include education, equine studies, fine arts, language and communication, management, social studies, science and math. Graduate programs are offered in education and business administration. NCAA Division II Lake Erie Storm teams include baseball, softball, basketball, football, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, golf, and track and field.
