    • Northeastern University (NU) is located in Boston, Massachusetts. NU's physician assistant program is full-time and 24 months long. While in the program, students take courses in anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, surgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, mental health and emergency medicine, among others. New programs start each August and only 34 applicants are chosen to fill new classes. To gain acceptance into the program, students need to have a bachelor's degree with at least a 3.0 GPA and to have completed all of the required biology and chemistry courses with a B or higher in each course. NU also requires that students have 2,000 hours of patient care experience before applying. Financial aid is available.

    Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

    • Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is located in Boston, Massachusetts (MCPHS). MCPHS offers a full-time physician assistant program that is 30 months long and prepares students to work as PAs in a variety of medical settings. Students partake in courses such as genetics, anatomy and physiology, primary care medicine, patient assessment, physical examination, internal medicine, pediatric medicine and surgery. In order to qualify for an entrance interview, students need to meet all prerequisite course requirements, have a bachelor's degree and pass background and health checks. Students may apply for financial assistance.

    Springfield College

    • Springfield College is located in Springfield, Massachusetts. Springfield's graduate physician assistant program is full-time and 27-months long. Students can enter the program as undergraduate freshman, transfer student or as a graduate student with a bachelor's degree. Required prerequisite courses include chemistry, biology, algebra, statistics, microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry and anatomy and physiology. Students also need at least 220 hours of health care experience and 30 hours of shadowing a physician assistant in order to be invited for an interview. Financial assistance is available to qualified applicants.
