Physician Assistant Programs in Michigan

Physician assistants practice under the supervision of a physician, performing services similar to those provided by physicians. Physician assistants conduct physical examinations, prescribe medications, order tests, diagnosis medical conditions and counsel patients on health and wellness while working as part of a health care team. To practice, physician assistants must earn a master's degree and obtain national certification.

    • University of Detroit Mercy offers a physician assistant master's degree program that combines classroom instruction with a rotation of diverse clinical experiences. Full-time students can complete the program in 2 years, while students who work full-time can complete the degree in 3 years.
