Doctor of Theology Programs

Religion students earn a Doctor of Theology degree (ThD) to acquire or advance a position as a church administrator, professor or minister. The ThD is based on research of a particular theological subject and a written dissertation after two or three years of study. Most Doctor of Theology programs require studying the history of Christianity, culture and religion, and church ethics. Knowledge of ancient languages such as Hebrew or Greek may also be required in certain programs.
