Make a chart of the different programs so you can compare all schools. Write important criteria categories in a row at the top of your paper. Include categories such as location, program length, type of classes, prerequisite requirements and cost. Analyze the programs to find out which ones are your top choices. Look at your notes in all categories and decide which ones, overall, sound the best to you. Add a column to the chart and rank each program so you can clearly see your top programs.
Decide how many programs you want to apply for. Most people apply to a few programs in case they do not get their top choice.
Visit the program's website and look for information on applying. Most colleges have this listed under an admissions tab. Read the application information completely to make sure you have all information on hand before applying. You may need to submit school transcripts, letters of recommendation and any required essays.
Apply following the process outlined on the school's website. Many colleges now allow students to apply directly online. If you have questions before or during the application process, contact the school directly. Once you submit your application, wait for a response to your application.
