Schools for Accounting Degrees

Accountants are responsible for overseeing the financial records of businesses, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) notes in its Occupational Outlook Handbook. An accountant may also work for individual clients, private firms or the government. Accountants may deal with taxes, budgets, financial planning and other monetarial administrative duties. According to the BLS, accountants typically need a minimum of a bachelor's degree to secure employment, though master's degrees are in increasing demand. Many schools in the United States have undergraduate and graduate accounting programs.
