How to Go to School for Modeling

Modeling schools teach poise, how to walk on the runway and make-up application, and these lessons are helpful to individuals that have little experience or training in the field of modeling. Most modeling schools will accept any applicant for admission, although there may be some age restrictions, depending on the student. For example, some modeling schools will not accept students under the age of three. While modeling schools can lead to a basic preparation for the field of modeling, though most will not assist with modeling employment.

      Make an appointment with the admissions counselor at the modeling school of your choice.

      Visit the modeling school and speak with the admissions counselor in person. The admissions counselor will provide you with information about the classes, the time it takes to complete those classes and give you a tour of the school.

      Speak with the admissions counselor about specific needs that you may have as a prospective model. For example, if you are working on becoming a runway model and are not interested in print work, tell you adviser and see if you are able to customize the classes to your specific interests. Some modeling schools will allow you to do this.

      Fill out the modeling school application and pay the fees for the classes. Fees will vary by modeling school and some schools will allow you to pay the fees per class that you take, while others will expect you to pay a lump sum for all of their classes at one time.
