Located along the North Central Expressway in Dallas, Mended Hearts is a medical support group for people with heart disease. Founded more than 50 years ago. With branches virtually throughout the United States, Mended Hearts is affiliated with both the American Heart Association and Mended Little Hearts -- a partner organization that also provides medical support assistance for families of children with heart disease. Mended Hearts holds information workshops, seminars and conventions throughout the year.
Near the corner of 7th Avenue and West 25th Street in New York City, Cancer Care is a medical support group for people with various types of cancer. Close to the New York Public Library and Midtown East, Cancer Care offers online, telephone and in-person assistance to those in need. Cancer Care's Copayment Assistance Foundation also helps people afford much-needed medicine and supplies. All of Cancer Care's medical support group services are free as well.

Those in need may obtain various types of assistance that include medical, dental, pharmaceutical, and even psychological help. Many state health agencies also provide social assistance for people coping with these diseases. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD) are both nationally recognized organizations. Based in Irving, Texas, and Marlborough, Massachusetts, each association helps car accident and trauma survivors. With offices located throughout the U.S., people can find medical and psychological assistance for trauma-related issues virtually anywhere nationwide.
