    New Jersey City University

    • New Jersey City University was opened in 1929 as a teacher training institute called the New Jersey State Normal School at Jersey City. Located near Manhattan, the school houses the Deborah Cannon Partridge Wolfe College of Education with programs that include Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary, Multicultural, Special, Literacy, Health and Music Education. Prospective teachers have the opportunity to receive library media specialist certification with an M.A. in education technology. Undergraduate students interested in educational leadership and counseling can earn an M.A. in Urban Education or an M.A. in counseling.
