The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma offers a Bachelor's degree with a major in Speech-Language Pathology. This course of study covers clinical work and classroom study while giving students 44 hours of dedicated speech-language pathology classes. Clinical work is performed at the Jane Brooks School for the Deaf and the John Morris Speech and Language Clinic. Students must maintain a 3.0 grade point average in order to continue in the program and complete the clinical portion. Upon completion, students are prepared to enter graduate school for speech pathology.

The University of South Alabama offers a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. This program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation and candidates are prepared to start a Clinical Fellowship (CF) upon completion of the academic portion. The CF is required for national certification and licensure. Candidates must exhibit proficiency in problem solving, communication, judgment, demeanor and sensory and motor skills. This program teaches candidates scientific inquiry, clinical training, research and academics.

The University of Texas at El Paso has a five year program that awards a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Candidates are taught through class study and clinical training under the requirements of the Texas Licensure and Certificate of Clinical Competence. This school requires 97 semester hours of undergraduate courses, 33 semester hours of graduate courses and five semesters of clinical training. Students must be accepted into the graduate portion of the program once undergraduate course work is completed. A grade point average of 3.3 in seven upper level courses and a 500 on the verbal and written sections of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are needed for graduate school consideration.
