Located in Manhattan, the City University of New York at John Jay College offers bachelor's, master's and doctorate programs in the forensic sciences. According to the school's website, the programs are geared for both students new to forensics as well as current forensic professionals.
Bachelor's degree students may elect to specialize in criminalistics, molecular biology or toxicology. Graduate students pursuing a master's degree may choose to study forensic toxicology or criminalistics. Virginia Commonwealth University was founded in 1779 and is located in Virginia's capital city of Richmond. The school has offered a Bachelor's of Science degree in forensic science since 2005. According to the school's website, students interested in the forensic science program need a foundation in mathematics as well as the natural and physical sciences and will need a firm understanding of both biology and chemistry.
Since 1978, Virginia Commonwealth University has offered a master's degree in forensic science. The program gives students understanding and insight into forensic specializations such as DNA analysis, trace evidence, legal issues, drug analysis and criminalistics.

According to the school's website, Indiana University Purdue University Indiana (IUPUI) offers forensic science students a program taught by nationally recognized instructors in both forensic biology and chemistry. Located in Indianapolis, the school reports that its program is buttressed by both one of the United State's top law schools and one of the largest medical schools in the country.
IUPUI's Bachelor of Science in forensic and investigative sciences program offers classes in law and forensic science (which are taught by law school instructors), imaging and photography and both forensic biology and forensic chemistry. Undergraduate students in the forensic science program are also given the chance to work as an intern in a local crime lab.
IUPUI (through Purdue University) also offers a master's degree program in forensic science for students interested in a career in criminal justice or as a professional forensic scientist.
