Purdue University offers a bachelor of science in speech, language and hearing sciences. The program is located within the College of Liberal Arts and emphasizes the introduction of the basic processes of communication, as well as the fundamentals of communication disorders. Courses in the degree program include exploring audiology and hearing science, elements of linguistics and acoustic bases of speech and hearing. Students must complete a minimum of 126 credits of study between the general education and major-specific courses. Opportunities for clinical observation become available toward the end of a student's time in the program.

Ball State University offers an undergraduate major in speech-language pathology and audiology in its College of Sciences and Humanities. The program consists of 67 units of study and topics of instruction include speech acoustics, the science of speech sounds and disorders related to speech and language. Students will also take classes on anatomy and clinical procedures. In addition to completing in-class work, students complete clinical experiences that require the observation of patients and provision of supervised services to patients.

Indiana State offers a bachelor's degree program in speech-language pathology that can be completed on a clinical or academic track. All students in the program complete a series of required courses that include articulation disorders and management, evaluation of communication disorders and phonetics. All students will complete one clinical experience, and students who elect to take the clinical track of study will complete an additional nine credits of clinical observation and student teaching. Students who choose the academic track will complete nine other additional credits.
