Speech Pathology Undergraduate Programs

While a graduate level degree is required to attain certification and licensure as a speech-language pathologist, undergraduate programs in the field serve as preparation for advanced study, and are sufficient for careers in speech-language pathology assistance. Undergraduate programs in speech pathology offer students comprehensive exposure to diverse aspects of the field through courses, like Disorders of Articulation and Phonology, and also provide opportunities to participate in research and clinical work.

    • Located in the nation's capital, the University of the District of Columbia was chartered in 1974. A public liberal arts university, today UDC features an undergraduate Speech & Language Pathology baccalaureate program within the university's College of Arts and Science. Students in this program will study from courses, like Anatomy and Physiology of Hearing, Language Acquisitions and Functional Disorders, among others. Speech & Language Pathology majors additionally can choose between a non-clinical and clinical concentration.     • Housed within the university's School of Nursing and Health Sciences, La Salle University offers a baccalaureate course of study in Speech-Language-Hearing Science, which features a curriculum standard to most undergraduate speech pathology studies. Established in 1963, La Salle University is located in the historic Pennsylvania city of Philadelphia. Today, the university's Bachelor of Science program in Speech-Language-Hearing Science serves as preparation for graduate study in speech pathology.     • Nevada State College is a public college located in the southern Nevada city of Henderson. Established in 2002 as part of the Nevada System of Higher Education, today the college features an undergraduate academic catalog of more than 35 majors and minors, include a baccalaureate program in Speech Pathology.
