California Polytechnic University offers both bachelor's and master's programs in aerospace engineering. Students who do not possess a bachelor's degree in this field may be eligible for the blended bachelor's and master's program, in which they work towards both degrees at an accelerated rate. Master's degree candidates may specialize in either research or space systems engineering. Students must complete a formal plan of study and complete and defend a research project in order to earn their degree.

Iowa State University offers three graduate degrees in aerospace engineering. Students can earn master's degrees in engineering or science or a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering. Students must have previously earned a bachelor's degree in engineering, physics or mathematics. Students have access to lab facilities, including wind tunnels, tornado simulators, and materials testing facilities. Most students receive financial aid in the form of graduate assistantships, allowing them to work as teaching assistants or lab assistants in exchange for tuition and a small stipend.

Clarkson University offers master's degrees in engineering or research through the Department of Aeronautical Engineering. Their program is relatively small; according to their website, they have only 20 faculty members as of 2010. The Master of Science degree program is a traditional graduate program, involving choosing a research project, working with an adviser, and writing and defending a thesis. Students who are solely interested in engineering may elect to complete the Master of Engineering degree program instead, which does not require a research thesis for graduation, consists of 30 credits in engineering and takes only a year to complete. The ME program offers partial funding, while the MS program offers full financial assistance, often in the form of graduate assistantships. ME students may qualify for a Ph.D. program in aerospace engineering after successful completion of the master's program.
