Top Undergraduate Business Universities

The top undergraduate business universities are not necessarily among the best business schools in the nation. Undergraduate business emphases differ somewhat from those found in prominent master of business administration (MBA) programs. "Business Week" ranked the top undergraduate business schools in 2010 based on placement rates, academics and student satisfaction. Three universities emerged as the clear leaders.
  1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology

    • Ranked No. 3 in the U.S. for its undergraduate business program, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is not normally a school that most people immediately think of when talking about top-rated business programs. MIT is world renowned for its prestigious programs in the fields of physics and engineering, but what is little known is the fact that the MIT Sloan School of Management houses one of the best undergraduate and graduate programs in business education. "U.S. News & World Report" ranked the Sloan MBA program No. 3, as well, complementing the school's "Business Week" ranking. MIT emphasizes business fields such as finance, management information systems, statistics and operations research, marketing, entrepreneurship and economics. The MIT economics department is among the best in the world with faculty members who are recognized as some of the world's top economists in their respective research fields. MIT is committed to global vision in its program offering courses in areas such as global entrepreneurship and even studies in fields such as Islamic finance.
