Top European Business Universities

Whereas prestigious business schools in the United States such as Harvard and Columbia continue to be popular, many students from the United States and overseas are drawn to top-notch European business schools. The attraction of a non-U.S. school is greater international business opportunities for students including internships and jobs in foreign countries.
  1. HEC School of Management

    • The HEC School of Management in Paris is consistently rated as the No. 1 business school by the "Financial Times" year after year. The school, founded in 1881, is one of France's "grandes écoles," elite graduate schools attended by the country's top students. HEC offers a traditional Master of Business Administration, an Executive MBA, a Masters in Management and a doctoral degree. The school has a campus in China and students can also apply for joint degree programs with other institutions around the world. There are 2,831 students at HEC and tuition and fees for the MBA program totaled $62,130 as of 2009.

    London Business School

    • The No. 1 school on the 2009 "Financial Times" business school rankings is London Business School. Nine degree programs are offered at the institution including a traditional MBA and a Ph.D. The school has an executive education program based in Dubai. LBS has partnerships with Columbia University, the Indian School of Business, Hong Kong University Business School and the China Europe International Business School. The school is located on an urban campus in the heart of London next to the Regent's Park. There are approximately 1,800 students enrolled at LBS and tuition, and fees as of 2009 totaled $74,620.

    INSEAD

    • INSEAD is a private business school based in France with campuses in Singapore, Abu Dhabi and a research center in Israel. It is the third-ranked school on the 2009 "Financial Times" list of top business schools. More than 1,000 students are enrolled in the school's programs, which include MBA, Executive MBA and Ph.D. degrees. The school has an alliance with the prestigious Wharton School at the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania. Students who participate in the alliance can take classes on three continents including INSEAD's Singapore campus. INSEAD also has a New York Office for strengthening its ties to North American corporations and its overseas alumni. Tuition as of 2009 totaled $68,726.
