A List of Junior Colleges That Have Men's Soccer

Junior colleges are generally used as a stepping stone towards earning a four-year degree. For some junior colleges across the country, though, they are at the top of their game in sports such as men's soccer. Tyler Junior College, Georgia Perimeter College and Schoolcraft College have established solid men's soccer teams that compete annually for the highest award in junior college athletics.
  1. Tyler Junior College

    • Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, boasts one of the top men's soccer teams in the country. The school won the 2009-10 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) men's soccer championship. In addition to the team title, Tyler Junior College had four players who were named NJCAA All-Americans in 2009-10. Over the past two seasons, the men's soccer team at Tyler Junior College has a record of 34-13-1.

    Georgia Perimeter College

    • Georgia Perimeter College (GPC) finished the 2009-10 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) season as the No. 2 men's soccer team in the nation. However, GPC was just two kicks away from being the best. Tyler Junior College won the NJCAA men's soccer championship by beating GPC 0-0. The game, which was tied after regulation, ended in a 5-3 overtime shootout. Since 2005, the GPC men's soccer team has compiled an overall record of 103-9-7. The 2005 team won the NJCAA national championship.

    Schoolcraft College

    • Schoolcraft College in Michigan finished third in the country in the National Junior College Athletic Association men's soccer championship during the 2009-10 season. Schoolcraft College lost to runner-up Georgia Perimeter College before beating Louisberg College in the consolation game. Although Schoolcraft College recruits most of its men's soccer players from the state of Michigan, six of the team's players from the 2009-10 team were from foreign countries.
