  1. Johns Hopkins University

    • Ranked as the 14th best national university by U.S. New & World Report, Johns Hopkins University offers studies for both full-time and part-time students in a wide variety of graduate and undergraduate academic fields including medicine, education, business, nursing and engineering. The university, founded in 1878, is comprised of nine schools such as the School of Medicine and the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. The school competes in NCAA Division I men's and women's lacrosse and NCAA Division III for all of its other athletic programs including men's and women's basketball, football, wrestling, field hockey and soccer. As of 2010, the university, located in Baltimore, enrolls over 5,200 undergraduate students

    University of Maryland

    • U.S. News & World Report ranks the University of Maryland at College Park as the 53rd best overall university in the nation. The college features very competitive athletics programs including football, men's and women's lacrosse, and soccer that competes in NCAA Division I. In 2002, the men's basketball team won the national championship. Over 10 colleges and schools make up the university including Robert H. Smith School of Business, the College of Chemical and Life Sciences, the Graduate School, the College of Education, and the Philip Merrill College of Journalism. The school began in 1858 as the Maryland School of Agriculture and took its current name in 1925 following its accreditation as a university.

    Loyola University Maryland

    • Loyola University located in Baltimore, ranks as the third best school in the northeastern United States to earn a master's degree according to U.S. News & World Reports 2010 rankings. The school, a Jesuit institution founded in 1852, offers graduate and undergraduate study in a variety of fields such as education, business and computer science. Enrolled students study one of the university's three colleges and schools: Sellinger School of Business and Management, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the College of Education. The school's athletic programs compete in NCAA's Division I and include golf, men's and women's soccer, track, swimming and men's and women's basketball.
