Famous Architecture Colleges

    • The Graduate School of Design at Harvard University's Department of Architecture has international faculty members who expose students to many design facets. The department offers two degree programs: Master in Architecture I, for students who completed an undergraduate degree without architectural studies; and a Master in Architecture II, for those who obtained an undergraduate architecture degree.

      World-renowned theorists and critics provide guest lectures to supplement education. The university's information infrastructure allows students to access architectural information at both Harvard and MIT in innovative ways.

    Yale University

    • Yale School of Architecture places strong emphasis on its studio-based curriculum; the environment values experimentation and collaboration in the midst of critiques, guest lectures and reviews. Students take courses in history, technology and urbanism in addition to studio work.

      The college offers master's programs for architecture and non-architecture students, Master's of Environmental Design and Doctorate's of Philosophy. Students also may enroll in joint degree programs for management, environmental studies or specialization. Undergraduate students at Yale are eligible to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in architecture.

    Columbia University

    • Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation grants three-year professional degrees that demonstrates the significance of architectural design in regards to historical and current issues. The school is situated in New York City and exposes students to the metropolitan diverse culture.

      The well-rounded curriculum is divided into five categories: studio; building technology; theory; visual arts; and practice.     • Syracuse University's School of Architecture highlights the studio experience in both its undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The curriculum is supplemented with guest lectures, exhibitions, and symposiums. Undergraduates engage in both liberal arts and architecture studies.
