Though the school tries to schedule clinical rotations during the day, some students may be required to attend clinical rotations during evening hours.     • San Diego City College, a public community college, offers a two-semester LVN certificate. In order to be considered for admission to the program, applicants must take a placement exam and complete college level courses in human anatomy and physiology, biology and microbiology with grades of C or better. Low-cost childcare for students' children is available at the college's on-site daycare center. Graduates of LVN program are eligible for career placement assistance. Financial aid is available to eligible students.

    • Kaplan College is a private college offering a certificate in licensed vocational nursing. Students take courses in human anatomy and physiology, nursing theory, pediatrics, gerontology and intravenous (IV) therapy. Classroom instruction is offered during the work week. Clinical rotations are typically during the work week, but may be on the weekends. Qualified students may take advantage of financial assistance and work-study programs. Graduates of the program are eligible to receive job placement assistance.
