Bellevue College offers an associate's degree program in diagnostic medical sonography. The program has strict prerequisite guidelines that require completion of such courses as English technical writing, intermediate algebra, physics and biomedical ethics. Students must have an overall grade-point average of 3.2 or higher after completing the prerequisite courses. Applicants must also complete the diagnostic ultrasound technology program application and complete a personal video statement. Upon successful completion of the program, students have the necessary foundation to take the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers' National Certification exam. Bellevue College's sonography program has received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. The school conducts classes on campus and at hospitals, clinics and labs in the local area.

Seattle University's College of Science and Engineering oversees the school's diagnostic medical sonography program. The school offers a bachelor's of science degree in diagnostic ultrasound. The program has two curriculum tracks, cardiovascular and general vascular, and students must successfully complete 181 credits to graduate. The school has a full one-year clinical internship program. Students meeting the internship guidelines choose either a general vascular internship program or a cardiovascular internship program. The program's clinical coordinator arranges all internships. Seattle University's medical sonography program has received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

Spokane Community College has an associate's degree program in diagnostic medical sonography. The program lasts seven quarters and students must successfully complete a minimum of 109 to 111 credits to graduate. After acceptance into the program, students are required to take a physical examination, immunizations, drug screening and a Washington State Patrol background check. Prerequisites include a high school diploma or GED; an interview with the sonography instructor; and the school recommends students take organic and biochemistry health sciences and introduction to chemistry classes. The school's medical sonography program has received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
