Morehead State University offers 78 undergraduate degree programs at its Morehead, Kentucky, campus. "U.S. News and World Report" named Morehead State as one of the best colleges in America in 2006. Seattle University has an undergraduate degree in diagnostic ultrasound. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. To graduate from the program, students must complete 181 credit hours of study and have a GPA of 2.5 or better, plus maintain a minimum "C" average in all core courses. The school offers a 12-month clinical internship program, but students cannot arrange their own internship. The department's clinical coordinator arranges all student internships. The school's diagnostic imaging program is part of the college of science and engineering. The school has two study plan suggestions for obtaining the degree---one that begins during freshman year for new students and the other for transfer students who already have an associate's degree and have completed all major prerequisite courses for the program.

The Medical College of Georgia's school of allied health sciences oversees its diagnostic medical sonography program. In 2007, the school was granted continuing accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. The school offers an undergraduate degree in diagnostic medical sonography. Courses include sonographic instrumentation, sectional anatomy, professional issues, clinical internship and introduction to vascular sonography. Potential students must already have 60 credit hours of prerequisite courses completed from another accredited institution, plus two letters of recommendation and a GPA of 2.5 or greater for acceptance into the program.
