Southwest Florida Colleges

Southwest Florida is home to several colleges and universities. Major cities are Naples and Fort Myers, with most of the colleges located there. According to College Board, the college search website used by many high school counselors in the United States, six colleges and universities are located within 50 miles of Naples. The colleges vary in size and in the degrees and programs offered.

    • Ave Maria University is a Catholic liberal arts school located approximately 45 miles from Naples. Bachelor's degrees are offered in studies such as theology and religion, politics, literature, philosophy, music, biology and history. Pre-law and pre-medicine programs are available, as well as a master's and doctorate degrees in theology.
