Christian Brothers University is a small school of less than 2,000 students in Memphis, Tennessee. Although fewer than one-fourth of the students are Catholic, CBU has an active University Ministry department that sponsors Masses, Bible studies, and retreats. Notable programs include a dual degree program in electrical engineering and computer science, three-year degree programs for high-achieving students in the School of Sciences, and the Sports Management concentration in the School of Business.
St. Mary's College, located 30 minutes from San Francisco in the city of Moraga, just east of Berkeley, has a proud liberal arts tradition. At the heart of the curriculum is the Collegiate Seminar, a four-semester series of courses required for all students that focuses on great literary works ranging from the Bible to The Origin of the Species. In accordance with the department's philosophy that content is as important as delivery, all communications majors also minor in another subject from choices as diverse as marketing, women's studies, or computer science.
La Salle University is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is well-known for several outstanding academic programs, including the popular nursing major where students gain clinical experience at La Salle's own urban public health center. The Department of Education is also home to some of the university's most popular programs, such as the dual degree in elementary and special education or the Religious Education major for students who aspire to teach in Catholic schools. Located 30 minutes outside of Chicago, Lewis University is one of the largest private colleges in Illinois. Lewis is the only Christian Brothers college to have an aviation department, complete with an on-campus airport and their own aircraft fleet. Aviation-related majors include air-traffic control management, aviation security, and flight management. Elsewhere on campus, the Public Safety department houses popular majors such as Private Security and Forensic Criminal Investigation. Lewis is also home to an active Greek community, including a co-ed "fratority."
St. Mary's University of Minnesota is located in Winona, Minnesota, although satellite campus sites providing education for working adults are located throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. In keeping with the university's Lasallian mission, a variety of religiously focused majors are offered, including Youth Ministry, Liturgical Music, and a special philosophy major for aspiring seminarians. St. Mary's also offers a wealth of majors in the science and healthcare fields such as biophysics, environmental biology, and nuclear medical technology. When students need a break from their studies, the Page Theatre on campus hosts frequent performances put on by the music, dance, and theatre departments.
