Christian Colleges in Dallas

For perspective college students who wish to combine their Christian faith with their ambitions for higher learning, finding the right college or university is very important. In the Dallas area, there are four distinct choices, including two nondenominational colleges. Each of the four colleges places a focus on serving the Lord through higher education.
  1. Dallas Christian College

    • Dallas Christian College founded in 1950, is "focused on educating and mentoring students to be People of Influence, under God's Influence, for a Life of Influence." DCC is a fully accredited institution that offers a Christian curriculum and environment. This four year college offers students opportunities to study programs like ministry, missions, elementary and secondary education, music, management and ethics in four different departments: the Bible Department, Arts and Science Department, Business Administration Department and the Education Department.

    Dallas Baptist University

    • The 293-acre campus of the Dallas Baptist University overlooks Mountain Creek Lake in the rolling hills, just outside of Dallas. The mission of DBU is "to provide Christ-centered quality higher education in the arts, sciences and professional studies at both the undergraduate and graduate levels to traditional age and adult students in order to produce servant leaders who have the ability to integrate faith and learning through their respective callings." A variety of programs are available in the eight different colleges and departments, including, associate degrees, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, online and weekend college.

    Dallas Theological Seminary

    • Dallas Theological Seminary was established in the fall of 1924 with a 13-student class. The DTS mission is to glorify God by "equipping godly servant-leaders for the proclamation of His Word and the building up of the body of Christ worldwide." DTS offers degrees in both undergraduate and graduate programs including: Master of Theology, Master of Arts, Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Ministry and general programs.

    Southern Methodist University

    • Southern Methodist University is centrally located in Dallas, Texas with other campuses in Plano, New Mexico and Taos. This private university first opened in 1915 and now has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students and has been ranked as the 56th best national university by U.S. News and World Report. SMU offers seven schools with programs in humanities and sciences, business, performing, visual and communication arts, as well as engineering, education and human development, law and theology.
