In addition to its pharmacy degree, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers bachelor's and graduate programs in other concentrations. Freshmen and sophomores entering the Doctor of Pharmacy program, can begin at the college through Direct Entry, Early Assurance or Pre-Pharmacy. Seventy percent of students who apply, are admitted to this private college.
From 2005 to 2010, approximately 98 percent of graduates passed the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) licensure exam on their first try.

Charles Drew University was founded in 1966 in Los Angeles, California. In September 2009, the Medical College received Historically Black College and University status -- a significant designation from the Federal Government.
Drew offers an Associate of Science in Pharmacy Technology degree rather than a doctor of pharmacy program. Techs assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and delivering consultations.
At Drew, students study pharmacy tech in the College of Science and Health. The institution prides itself on training minorities to become health career professionals by offering eight other science and health programs, as well as majors in the School of Nursing and College of Medicine.
