Michigan Accredited Colleges

A range of colleges in the state of Michigan are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), an independent corporation that accredits postsecondary, degree-granting educational institutions in the North Central region. Choose from more than 150 programs at Baker University, hang around the 200-acre campus at Hillsdale College or join more than 11,000 students at Delta College.   1. Hope College

    • Chartered in 1866, Hope College in Holland, Michigan offers 87 majors resulting in a bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music or bachelor of science in nursing degree.

    Albion College

    • Established in 1835, Albion College includes more than 30 major buildings. Donna M. Randall has been president since 2007. You will need at least 15 units of academic credit in English, social science, science, mathematics and foreign language to get into Albion College.

    Baker College

    • Baker College in St. Cass City is the largest independent college in Michigan, educating more than 43,000 students. This students study one of more than 150 programs offered by the university in departments such as business administration, information systems, culinary and health sciences.

    Adrian College

    • Located in Adrian, the college has a student to faculty ratio of 17:1 and 88 percent of the faculty hold the highest degree possible in their field. This college of liberal arts and sciences is made up of 21 buildings as of 2011.

    Delta College

    • Delta College in Bay City enrolled 11,529 students for the fall semester of 2010. Over 86 percent of graduates stay in Michigan and 61 percent have stayed in the tri-state counties. More than 40 percent of the community college's students are full-time as of 2011.

    Calvin College

    • Situated in Grand Rapids, Calvin College has 326 faculty members, 82 percent of whom have terminal degrees. The average class size is 22. A total of 92 percent of students get financial aid in the form of grants, loans and scholarships, as of 2011. Calvin has a 400-acre campus.

    Alma College

    • This private liberal arts college, located in Alma, has 87 full-time faculty members, 81 percent of which hold a terminal degree. The student to faculty ratio at Alma College is 13:1 as of 2011.

    Rochester College

    • Founded in 1959, Rochester College in Rochester Hills has a campus stretching more than 80 acres. Half of the full-time faculty members hold doctoral degrees in their fields as of 2011.

    Hillsdale College

    • Hillsdale College has a graduation rate of 72 percent. The campus in Hillsdale, Michigan stretches for 200 acres and is made up of 58 buildings. The student body is 1,300 and the student to faculty ratio is 10:1 as of 2011.
