El Paso Community College is located near downtown El Paso. The school offers more than 130 degree granting programs, which allow students to earn either an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or Associate in Applied Science degree. Additionally, all Associates degree classes taken at El Paso Community College are transferable to any four-year university in Texas. El Paso Community College also offers more than 40 certificate granting programs in a variety of trades, including electrical systems, child development and drafting.
The International Business College -- El Paso is a professional school in downtown El Paso. Originally built in 1898, the school offers more than 10 trade certificates in areas including nursing, office support and medical records. The professional programs allow students the opportunity to immediately obtain valuable work experience through externships and work placement programs. The school also offers scholarships to students with a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Western Technical College is a technical junior college with two locations near Fort Bliss and downtown El Paso. With a campus featuring state-of-the-art equipment, Western Tech offers associate degrees in several areas of study, including electronic engineering, health information technology and physical therapy. Western Tech also grants certificates in a number of trades, including welding, automotive repair and HVAC systems. For students relocating to El Paso, Western Tech offers a relocation service, which assists students in finding housing, banking services and part-time employment.
The Dona Ana Branch Community College of Las Cruces, New Mexico, maintains a satellite campus in downtown El Paso. Part of the New Mexico State University system, the school offers more than 35 degree and certificate granting areas of study, including nursing, computer programming, public health and business. Credits earned toward an associate degree at the Dona Ana Branch Community College are transferable to all colleges in Texas and all public universities in New Mexico.
