    • Marygrove College first opened its Detroit Campus in September 1927. The initial class was made up of 287 students, of those students 100 were sophomores, juniors or seniors. Marygrove classifies itself as an independent Catholic liberal arts college and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Marygrove is a private university and the tuition for an undergraduate, full-time student, for the 2010 to 2011 school year, is $8,400 per semester.     University of Detroit Mercy

    • In 1990, University of Detroit and Mercy College of Detroit combined to form University of Detroit Mercy.
