Located in Boston, the Massachusetts College of Art and Design offers a bachelor of fine arts degree in over 20 different majors. Disciplines include fine arts, design and art education including art history. Graduate degrees are also offered in fine arts, dynamic media and architecture among others. Various certificate programs are also available. Undergraduate programs include animation, architectural design, ceramics, sculpting, glass art and fashion design.
Unlike many other art schools in Boston, the School of the Museum of Arts does not offer specific majors. Despite this, however, students may focus on one area of study in fine arts. The School of the Museum of Fine Arts offers the largest all-elective studio arts program in the United States which allows students the freedom and flexibility to explore art as they wish. Students may also earn a bachelor of fine arts degree or enter the combined degree program if trying to obtain a number of academic degrees at the same time. A college of visual arts, located in the Kenmore/Fenway area of Boston sits the Art Institute, a part of Lesley University. Lesley University was founded in 1912 and the Art Institute of Boston has been a part of the university since 1998. Since then, the school has continued providing students with the education needed in order to achieve the profession they desire. Students are prepared for future professions through the school curriculum while obtaining their degrees. Two-year certificate programs are available along with the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.
