List of Community Colleges Offering Baccalaureate Degrees

A growing number of community colleges are adding bachelor degree programs to their curriculum. According to the Community College Baccalaureate Association, 17 states now have community colleges that offer at least one bachelor's degree, with Florida the leader with 18 colleges that confer four-year degrees in such programs as secondary education and business management. Many of these programs are targeted at providing training to fill shortages of qualified local workers in high-demand careers.
  1. Florida Colleges

    • Eighteen Florida community colleges offer a four-year degree, including Broward College in Fort Lauderdale; Chipola College in Marianna; College of Central Florida in Ocala; Daytona Beach Community College; Edison College with campuses in Punta Gorda, Naples, Fort Myers and La Belle; Florida Community College in Jacksonville; Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City; Indian River State College in Fort Pierce; Miami Dade College; Northwest Florida State College in Niceville; Palm Beach College; Pensacola State College; St. Petersburg College; Polk State College in Winter Haven; Santa Fe College in Gainesville; St. John's River Community College with locations in Palatka, St. Augustine and Orange Park; Seminole State College with campuses in Altamonte Springs, Heathrow, Oviedo and Sanford; and the State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota. St. Petersburg College has more than 16 bachelor degree programs, including banking, business administration, technology management, dental hygiene and health services administration.

    Washington Colleges

    • Four community colleges in Washington have added bachelor's degrees, including Bellevue Community College, Olympic College in Bremerton, Peninsula College in Port Angeles and South Seattle Community College. Bellevue Community College has two bachelor degree programs: a bachelor of applied science in radiologic and imaging sciences and a bachelor of applied arts in interior design. Olympic College has a bachelor of science in nursing, Peninsula College has a bachelor of applied science in applied management and South Seattle Community College offers a bachelor of applied science in hospitality management.

    Texas Colleges

    • The three community colleges in Texas that have established bachelor degree programs are Midland College, Brazosport College in Lake Jackson and South Texas College in McAllen. All three public colleges have a bachelor of applied technology in technology management. South Texas College also offers a bachelor of applied technology in computer and information technologies, and requires applicants to have completed an associate of applied science, associate of science or associate of arts degree, or 60 credit hours from a regionally accredited institution.

    Nevada Colleges

    • Nevada's Great Basin College in Elko, and Community College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, offer bachelor degrees. Great Basin College has programs in elementary education, secondary education, digital information technology, instrumentation, land surveying, management in technology, nursing, social work and integrative and professional studies. Community College of Southern Nevada has a bachelor of science in Dental Hygiene.
