San Joaquin Valley College was founded in 1977 and is an accredited institution that offers accelerated Associate of Science degree and certificate programs. The High Desert Regional Center of Azusa Pacific University is located in Victorville, roughly 15 minutes from Hesperia. This campus is focused on the needs of adult learners and offers accelerated bachelor degree programs, master degree programs and teaching credential programs. The specializations available for students include human development, educational leadership, teaching, educational counseling, nursing and special education. All courses are offered in the evening hours. This location offers 11 classrooms, wireless Internet access and online applications. Students have access to financial aid, a bookstore, a library, a counseling center and a health center.
The Victorville campus of the University of La Verne is located roughly 15 minutes from Hesperia. Established in 2003, this location offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in areas such as education, business, health administration, liberal studies and educational management. Online and evening courses are available for some programs and classes are generally in four-semester units. Students have access to one-on-one academic advising, textbook delivery, financial aid and on-campus information sessions. University of La Verne student life includes clubs, student government, organizations, sororities, fraternities and on-campus housing.
