ITT Technical Institute is a nationwide technical school with a local campus in Oxnard. The school offers Associate of Science and bachelor's degree programs, including Information Systems Security and Project Management. Associate programs include Computer Drafting and Design and Visual Communications. Relocation services are available for out-of-state applicants, with a representative assigned to help students find affordable housing. ITT's Career Services Department is tasked with helping students locate part-time jobs while attending school.
The Modern Institute of Technology offers three programs: Office Skills and Accounting, Electronic Technology and Medical and Dental Assisting Front Office. The Office Skills program is a 24-week course that prepares students for entry-level jobs in clerical and accounting fields. The Medical and Dental program requires 17 weeks to train students in medical-billing coding so that they can process claims for medical or dental offices. The 20-week Electronic Technology course prepares students for troubleshooting and repairing computers. Student services include job-placement assistance and tutoring, with flexible class scheduling available.
Charter College focuses on career development and hands-on training on its campuses throughout California. Although not considered specifically a technical institute, the college nevertheless has several technical programs. Charter offers bachelor's and associate degrees, including Pharmacy Technician, Computer Science, and Health Information Technology, as well as certificate programs. Campus tours for prospective students can be scheduled through the school's admissions department. As part of its curriculum, the college provides career development courses in resume preparation and interviewing skills.
Although not solely a technical institution, Oxnard College has extensive technical programs. Its Career and Technical Education Department offers associate degree and certificate programs in accounting, auto technician, fire technology and engineering technology. The college's Career Center services include help in finding a job or internship program, as well as fax machines, copiers and Internet access made available for student use.
