How to Create a Title Page for Axia College

The title page of an essay is the first thing an instructor sees, so it is important to have one that is not only professional looking, but correctly formatted. Every school has specific formatting requirements, and Axia College is no different. If you know the basic rules and requirements for formatting, you will have a great looking title page in no time.

Instructions

    • 1

Include the title page prior to anything else in the paper. Format a Microsoft Word document (the required program at Axia College), to a 12-point, Times New Roman font. Courier and Arial fonts are also acceptable. Center the page. All of the font in the paper must match that of the title page. Use 1-inch margins on the title page and double-space the document.

    • 2

Add in page numbers, ensuring that the title page is page number 1. The page numbers should go in the upper right hand corner inside the margin. Do not use the abbreviation p. or P. or write out the word 'page'.

    • 3

Place the title or a shortened version of the title (it must be 50 characters or less), in the upper-left margin as a header. This header should be present on the title page and throughout the essay.

    • 4

Center and double-space the following on the title page: Title, author, course number, date and instructor's name. Give each entry its own line. Do not include anything else on the title page, including images or pictures. The actual essay should begin on page 2.
