How to Build a Portfolio for Digital Media Class

Digital media is an important field of communications and has continued to grow. Consumers expect to be able to access their favorite forms of media quickly through electronic formats. Digital media is now taught at colleges throughout the country to help graduates keep up with this trend. During many of these classes students will be expected to create portfolios of their best work that can be used for potential applications once college is complete. Students can develop their portfolio using many different methods.

      Read the class syllabus and make note of any special instructions that the teacher has created for your digital media portfolio.

      Complete the various digital media projects assigned during class time.

      Select your best pieces of work from the assignments you have completed.

      Select a web publishing program to use to display your portfolio online. Check with your professor because he may have designated a specific program to use for online publishing.

      Upload each different project to the website.

      Publish the website once all the digital media projects are uploaded to make your portfolio viewable on the Internet.
