Scholarships for Cerebral Palsy

College-bound students living with cerebral palsy can qualify for a number of college scholarships. While there is no national scholarship fund for students with CP, a wide variety of regional scholarships exist, as well as several national opportunities for those with disabilities.
  1. Pfizer Epilepsy Scholarship Award

    • Pfizer offers a one-year $3,000 scholarship to students who are under a doctor's care for epilepsy and meet the appropriate academic requirements, such as success in school and extracurricular activities. About 25 to 35 percent of all children with cerebral palsy have epilepsy, according to epilepsy.com.

    ELA Foundation

    • The Ethel Louise Armstrong Foundation offers a merit-based college scholarship to women with physical disabilities who are enrolled in a college or university graduate program in the United States. This scholarship is offered annually and information is available in March of each year

    United Cerebral Palsy

    • Although United Cerebral Palsy does not have a national scholarship fund, scholarships are still available through local United Cerebral Palsy affiliates. For example, scholarship funds have been set up in California, Minnesota, Illinois and Massachusetts UCP locations.

    Easter Seals

    • Local Easter Seals affiliate offices may offer college scholarships to deserving disabled students. For example, the South Carolina branch has been offering annual scholarships since the 1986-87 academic year. Scholarship opportunities vary by region.

    Local civic organizations

    • Your local civic organizations, such as the Moose, Elks, Kiwanis or Rotary clubs, may all offer financial aid for students with CP as well as more general scholarships for students with disabilities. Again, scholarship opportunities can vary by region.
