The Health Resources and Services Administration sponsors the National Health Service Corps Scholarship program, which is open to graduate students who are enrolled in medicine, dentistry, family nurse practitioner, certified nurse midwife and physician's assistant programs. The scholarship pays full tuition and fees for up to 4 years as well as a monthly living stipend. In return, recipients must agree to a one-year period of service for every year the award is granted in a medically underserved area of the United States.

The Institute for Diversity in Health Management administers three scholarship programs for minority graduate students who are pursuing degrees in health care administration or a related field. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $5,000 and students in their first or second year of study may apply. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and financial need and must also be a member of a federally classified ethnic minority population.

The National Healthcare Career Network Scholarship program is open to graduate students who are enrolled in health care programs at accredited colleges and universities. Scholarships of $1,250 are awarded to selected students, and priority is given to those students pursuing degrees in certain fields including nursing, radiology, pharmacy, therapy, health care administration, medical technology and allied health.

The Lucille and Edward R. Roybal Foundation Public Health Scholarship is awarded to Hispanic graduate students enrolled in accredited pharmacy, optometry, nursing or public health degree programs. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and a demonstrated financial need to be considered for the $5,000 award. Recipients must also have a clear desire to serve the public health needs of low-income Spanish-speaking communities in the United States.

The March of Dimes sponsors a scholarship program for registered nurses who are pursuing graduate degrees in maternal-child nursing. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited maternal-child nursing program at the graduate or doctoral level and must also be a member of an approved professional nursing association. Applicants must apply prior to the beginning of their final academic term to be considered for the $5,000 award.
