Scholarships For People With an Average Grade Point

According to College Board, the group the administers the SAT, in 2009- to 2010, the average private college tuition is $26,273 and the average public college tuition is $7,020 per year. With such daunting numbers, which don't include room and board, many students need financial assistance to pay for college. Fortunately, moer than $168 billion in scholarships are available. While many of these scholarships require a higher grade point average, some help is available for those with an average grade point.
  1. Do Something Award

    • The Do Something Award grants awards to students who are leaders in their communities. Students need to show how they are changing their communities for the better and how they are leading their communities to change.

      The five finalists will receive $5,000 for college along with a minimum of $5,000 for their community. You must be under 25 years old and a citizen of the United States or Canada to qualify.

    Common Knowledge Scholarship

    • The Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation (CKSF) gives awards for properly answering their quizzes. CKSF have quizzes available to take throughout the year about common topics, like the Philadelphia Eagles, the FBI, or going green. CKSF has no financial or essay required. Simply go to their website and fill out the quizzes. Those with the top scores move to the next round until eventually only 2-3 students win the scholarships.

      Scholarship amounts vary by quiz taken.

    College Prowler No Essay College Scholarship

    • College Prowler, a college review site for students by students, runs a monthly $2,000 college scholarship. The only requirement is to fill out the application on their website. Winners are chosen randomly. You must re-apply every month to qualify for that month's scholarship.
