The Janie Moore Green Grant is provided by the North American Nature Photography Association, or NANPA. Scholarships are offered only to photography students, who must be members of the association to qualify. The Janie Moore Green Grant is valued at up to $1,000 and can be used toward tuition only. To qualify for the grant, students are ranked based upon their academic merit and the quality of their photography work.
The National Press Photographers Association is an organization that promotes and values the integrity of visual journalism in news media. The association provides four types of scholarships to photography students including the $1,000 Bob Baxter Scholarships and the $2,000 Bob East Scholarship, which is given to students who plan to attend graduate school and display a high level of talent. Photography students with financial hardships can apply for the Still Photographer Scholarships, and the National Press Photographers Association also offers the Reid Blackburn Scholarship to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled in a four year photography program.
Founded by Alfred and Elma Milotte, the Milotte Scholarship Fund provides up to $4,000 to well-qualified photography students who place emphasis on nature subjects. To qualify, students must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, be a high school graduate (or hold the G.E.D. equivalent), and be enrolled in a trade school or college. Applicants much have been a resident of the state of Washington for at least five years before applying.
