The Women in Animation organization created the Phyllis Craig Scholarship in honor of one of its founding members. The scholarship receives support through donations from individuals and companies. Any U.S. citizen who is a current student of an accredited animation program is eligible. Applicants must submit a portfolio or reel, an essay about animation career goals, a written recommendation and a copy of student identification. One recipient receives $1,000 each year.

San Francisco State University sponsors the Gordon Thomas Memorial Scholarship in honor of its namesake, a noted alum and animator. Only current, full-time San Francisco State juniors, seniors or graduate students enrolled in the cinema or animation programs may apply. Applicants must submit a personal statement about their financial need and commitment to the craft, as well as animation samples on DVD.

The Los Angeles Film School offers two scholarships for their computer animation program. The first is the Los Angeles Film School Program Scholarship, aimed at prospective students who've already submitted their enrollment applications. Those interested must submit a creative piece for their intended program of study. The other option, the Los Angeles Film School Need-Based Scholarship, is for enrolled students who are in financial need. Application requirements include a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
