The Association of Surgical Technologists have a variety of scholarship programs for students who want to pursue a career in surgical technology. Programs include the Foundation Student Scholarship and the Del Mar Cengage Learning Student Scholarship. There are also scholarship opportunities for educators and practitioners. These scholarships are open only to students who are studying at CAAHEP-accredited surgery technology programs or current surgical technologists who are pursuing an advanced education. Applicants must make sure to read all the directions and to return all requested materials to the right address. Eligibility requirements, scholarship amount and application process varies by grant.

This organization sponsors awards for both students and educators. They award multiple $1,000 scholarships in three separate categories: Student Scholarship, Educator's Scholarship (Credential Completion) and Educator's Scholarship (Advanced Degree). As of 2009, the ARC/STSA awarded $3,000 of scholarships to four students and one educator, according to the ARC/STSA website. Eligibility requirements and the application process vary by each type of scholarship. All applicants who are studying surgical technology can apply for these scholarships. Deadlines for these scholarships are March 1.

Both students and practitioners have access to the surgical technology scholarship. The Sandra Edwards NBSTSA Scholarship Fund gives assistance to those entering the field or to those advancing in the field. They include both full and partial scholarship awards in the amounts of $1,000 and $500. The NBSTSA awards scholarships annually prior to the AST National Conference. The application process consists of completing and signing the application, showing proof of attendance at a NBSTSA approved program, official transcript of GPA, submission of a 1,200 word essay and a letter of recommendation from a mentor or preceptor.
