Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania makes educational grant money available to graduate-level nursing students in Pennsylvania through its annual scholarship program. Nightingale Awards Scholarship funds may be used by recipients to pay for the cost of tuition, books and associated fees. To be eligible, a student must be a resident of Pennsylvania, must be pursuing a nursing degree at a Pennsylvania institution of higher learning and must have a cumulative B average. Both master's and doctoral students are eligible for Nightingale Award Scholarships. The annual deadline for application is January 31.

Independence Blue Cross provides scholarship money to graduate-level students of nursing and nursing education through its Nurse Scholars Program. To be eligible, a student must be attending a school in Bucks County, Chester County, Delaware County, Montgomery County or Philadelphia County. Independence Blue Cross Scholarships are awarded in amounts that vary by participating institution. Eligible Pennsylvania-area graduate nursing students should contact the financial aid office at their college or university to apply for a scholarship, or visit the Independence Blue Cross website for more information.

Students pursuing a master's degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing are eligible for several scholarships through the department. The School of Nursing Grant is a need-based scholarship that is available to full-time graduate nursing students. The Graduate Hillman Scholarship awards up to $25,000 to a graduate nursing student at the University of Pennsylvania, in exchange for a commitment to work as a nurse in New York City for a specific length of time. The PENN-Golden Gate National Senior Center Scholarship Program awards grants of up to $45,000 to graduate nursing students who maintain a 3.0 grade point average and commit to working at a Golden Gate National Senior Care facility for a minimum of two years upon graduating. Application deadlines vary by scholarship.
