The American Helicopter Society offers the Vertical Flight Foundation scholarships annually to students in vertical flight studies. Students may receive one scholarship during their graduate studies and one when studying for an undergraduate degree. Applicants must have full-time attendance in an accredited engineering school and must attend one full academic year after receiving the Vertical Flight Foundation scholarship.

The Ninety-Nines, Inc. provides the Amelia Earhart Memorial scholarship annually to qualified female students. The Amelia Earhart Memorial scholarship is awarded to female pilots who are members of the Ninety-Nines, Inc. pursuing secondary education, such as pilot certificates, technical training and college degrees. Applicants may request a recommendation from one of the local Ninety-Nines chapters. The award amount depends on the type of application submitted.

The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation scholarship is for students studying to acquire a private pilot license. The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation award does not cover university or college tuition, but it does cover expenses for independent flight school courses. Applicants must be 16 to 23 years of age, permanent residents or citizens of the United States. The application for the LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation scholarship is available online each October, and the award amounts vary each year.
