Kansas State Grants

There are many grants available for residents of Kansas. Thanks to the generosity of corporations, charities, nonprofit organizations, public and private institutions and schools, finding a way to fund your schooling is now easier than ever. There are three general grant types: merit-based awards for those that demonstrate high levels of academic achievement, need-based grants for the financially burdened and scholarships for certain majors or areas of study, life situation or religious/ political affiliation. The Kansas Board of Regents is a particularly good resource for students in Kansas and can be contacted regarding these available state grants.
  1. Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship

    • The Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship is offered to a deserving minority student by the Kansas Board of Regents. To qualify, you must be from a minority culture, academically accomplished and demonstrate financial need. Qualified applicants must also attend an accredited Kansas college or university and must be a Kansas resident. The award amount is generally from $500 to $3,000 per academic year.

    Kansas Teacher Service Scholarship

    • The Kansas Teacher Service Scholarship is available to an outstanding aspiring teacher by the Kansas Board of Regents. Qualified applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in education or teaching, must excel academically and must commit to teaching in an underprivileged area of Kansas for at least one year upon completion of their program. The award amount is generally from $500 to $3,000 per academic year.

    Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship

    • The Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship is offered to an aspiring nurse by the Kansas Board of Regents. Qualified applicants must sign an agreement that they will work as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in a Kansas institution for at least one year upon completion of their program. If a student receives aid through this scholarship for more than one year of her schooling, she must commit to additional years of service in a Kansas community. The award amount is generally from $500 to $3,000.

    Kansas State Scholarship

    • The Kansas State Scholarship is available to a needy student by the Kansas Board of Regents. To qualify, students must demonstrate financial need, must excel academically and must rank in the top 20 to 40 percent of their graduating high school class. This award is reserved for incoming college freshman that plan on attending an accredited Kansas college or university upon graduation. The award amount is generally from $500 to $3,000 per academic year.
