Unemployed and underemployed migrant and seasonal farmworks can take advantage of the Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers grant, which underwrites training, assistance and services. The goal of this grant-based program is to provide employability assistance to citizens working in agricultural jobs with high levels of underemployment and unemployment. You can make application for this program through your state employment division.
The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education program is a grant-based plan that provides funds for students desiring a career in education. The goal of this fund is to provide teachers for schools and districts with a shortage of qualified teachers. To receive this funding, you must agree to work for at least four academic years in a public or private elementary or secondary school serving students from low-income households. Or, you can fulfill the requirements for this grant by working in a designated high need field such as foreign language, mathematics, science, special education or other area listed in the annual Teacher Shortage Area Nationwide Listing. If you accept this grant, but do not fulfill the teaching requirements, the grant will be converted to a federal direct unsubsidized loan and must be repaid.

Usually, federal Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students without a bachelor's or graduate degree. These grants are given to students based on their financial need, cost of school attendance and whether they are attending school on a part-time or full-time basis.
