The Seminole State College of Florida offers a GED program that can prepare former students to take the five-part GED test. Located in Seminole County, Seminole State College has four locations in cities north and east of Orlando. For older applicants, a signed application and a series of placement tests will get you on your way to free courses to help you pass. For those who have dropped out of high school, transcripts and proof of withdrawal as well as a signed and notarized consent form will make you eligible to study in this course.

With the ability to start any time during the year, Miami Dade College offers courses in the five subjects covered on the GED test. After taking placement tests, students are sent to GED advisors on one of the six local campuses to formulate a customized plan of study based on the results. There is a minimum commitment from the student to attend six hours of courses, but the program is free. If you are not able to make it in to study and learn for the six required hours, Miami Dade College offers an online version of the course for your convenience.
