The University of Arizona has offered correspondence courses since 1915. Undergraduate and graduate students may select from more than 140 courses accessible through 32 departments. In addition, UA has 120 courses for high school students. Some courses are Introduction to Financial Accounting, College Algebra, Elementary Italian and Fundamentals of Chemistry.

Through Sam Houston State University, in Huntsville, Texas, students can receive college credit by enrolling in a correspondence program. Students earn three semester hours of credit by taking a correspondence course. Correspondence credits cannot be applied toward a degree. Some classes offered are Principles of Microeconomics, Foundations of Kinesiology, History of Photography and Business Law.

The University of Colorado at Boulder offers credit correspondence courses through the Independent Learning program. Self-paced and term-based courses are available. You can enroll in a self-paced course any time during the year. However, the course must be complete within six months of your date of enrollment as of April 5, 2010. Some courses available are Children's Literature, Interpersonal Communication and American Foreign Policy.
