Determine where you took your exam. You need to contact the testing center where you took the test. If you took the test in Canada or the United States, you can find contact information for testing centers at the American Council on Education (ACE) website.
Look up the testing center where you took your test on the ACE website by zip code or by advanced search using information such as the name of the testing center, the city and state, etc.
Once you've found your testing center, call or contact the center by email for further information, such as opening hours, required documents and identification, possible processing fees and how to pay them, and where and how to request your transcript.
After you have confirmed opening hours, necessary information and fees, mail in your transcript request to the center's physical address, fax it, or use the "map it" option on ACE's website to determine how to get to the center and deliver your request in person.
Fill out all the forms completely and correctly as requested by your testing center and your scores should arrive in no time. Don't forget to sign your request.
If you have any problems receiving your results, don't hesitate to contact the testing center again, or if you have problems with the testing center, try contacting your state's GED administrator directly with further questions or complaints about the site in question. Contact information for administrators is available on ACE's website.
If you are a military employee, took the test overseas, or are incarcerated persons in federal or Michigan state correctional facilities, you can download a GED transcript request form from the GED Testing Service Website.
Fill out the form, completely and correctly, following all instructions, print it and send it to GED Testing Service, One Dupont Circle, Suite 250, Washington DC 20036-1193 or send it by fax to 202-296-8404.
You will have to provide information such as full name, address, date of birth, social security number, telephone number, military status at the time of testing, location of testing, and year of testing, and specify where you want your transcripts sent. You must sign the form to receive a transcript.
As of 2010 students are charged a fourteen dollar processing fee (per transcript) for this service. Pay by money order or credit card. If you're sending your request via fax, you must pay with a credit card. ACE doesn't accept personal checks for payment.
You can send your GED score to multiple institutions with this form, but the fourteen dollar processing form is per transcript, so only send your scores to schools where you plan to apply for admission or businesses where you plan to apply for employment.
