Choose a convenient date and location to take the test. BC community colleges host seven testing sessions each year in January, March, April, June, July, September and November. Check with your local college about their GED testing dates.
Fill out the GED application form and send it with your $60 testing fee to the GED Testing Service in Victoria. The Testing Service must get the form and fee 28 days before you intend to write the test.
Prepare to write the test. Consider enrolling in a GED prep course at your local community college. The Ministry of Education also funds local school boards that offer similar courses, so you should check with your local school system to see if it provides such classes to adult learners. Prep books may also help you get ready for testing day.
Write the examination. On test day, you must show a photo ID with your signature and proof of age. GED Testing Service uses your Social Insurance Number to keep track of your test materials and grades, so you should bring that as well. Do not bring any materials, devices or calculators. To prevent cheating, everything you need to take the tests will be provided.
