Religious Easter Preschool Bulletin Board Ideas

Celebrate Easter in your preschool classroom with a suitably themed bulletin board. If you're a Sunday school teacher or a teacher at a religious school, focus your bulletin board on the religious aspect of Easter rather than the commercial side of Easter involving bunnies and eggs. The bulletin board can display your students' artwork, allow them to express themselves or teach them about the meaning behind the holiday. In addition, a colorful Easter bulletin board adds a pop of holiday cheer to the classroom.
  1. He is Risen

    • Create an Easter-themed bulletin board that honors the reason for the holiday. Reflect on Jesus' resurrection, which Christians celebrate every year on Easter. Your bulletin board can include a verse from Matthew's gospel: "He is not here; for he is risen, as he said." Give students colorful crosses to decorate using markers, crayons, paint, glitter and sequins. Write the child's name on her cross, and display the class's crosses on the bulletin board around the Bible verse.

    Forgiveness

    • Christianity teaches that Jesus died on the cross to forgive the world's sins. Therefore, a forgiveness-themed bulletin board is apt for the Easter season. Get your class thinking about forgiveness by having them contribute to this bulletin board. In large block letters, title the board "Jesus Died to Forgive Our Sins." Include images of Jesus on the board. Include the sub-title "We Forgive Because... ." Brainstorm with your preschoolers to come up with reasons why they forgive others. One student might say she forgives her brother because she loves him; another might say he forgave his best friend because his friend said he was sorry. Write these reasons on strips of construction paper, and post them on the bulletin board. This bulletin board idea reflects on Easter while giving preschoolers reasons to forgive in everyday life.

    Jesus Loves Me

    • Create a bulletin board wreath to celebrate Easter and Jesus' love. Jesus' sacrifice on Good Friday illustrates his love, so title your bulletin board "Jesus Loves Me." Help each preschooler trace his hands on pastel pieces of construction paper. With your help, cut out the hands and have each child write his name on his hands. Then, glue the handprints in a circle on the bulletin board to form a wreath. This bulletin board serves as a decorative centerpiece to the preschool classroom while allowing students to reflect on Jesus' love.
